Q: Why did you make The Warrior's Tale?

A: One of my favorite games was The Bards Tale (1985).
Last summer I wanted to play again but found it hard to
aquire. I tried emulators, dosbox, etc. but nothing really
worked. So then I downloaded the demo for Devil Whisky
by Shifting Suns Studios. I'm not going to write a review
for it, but basically it failed to satisfy this Bards Tale fan.
Next, I looked at the remake of The Bards Tale by inXile
Entertainment. One look at the real-time, 3rd person,
hack and slash was enough! If there was no game
around that was close enough to the original Bards Tale
for my taste, then I was going to make one! And there
you have it.

Q: Why is there no auto-mapping feature?

A: Look, if you want all the fancy dancy auto-maps, 3D
cutscenes, flips and halabaloo, you buy Diablo or World
of Warcraft or whatever. If you want classic style, old
school gaming, retro fun, you download Warriors Tale. I
chose not to make an auto-map feature because I wanted
the game to stay true to the original Bards Tale. Look in
the
Cheats page to download all eight dungeon maps.

Q: Why can you only save in the adventurer's Tavern?

A: See above answer.

Q: What other ways are there to heal my characters?

A: Entering the tavern at night will replenish energy and
mana for all characters. To heal them you can take them
to the temple, using healing items, cast healing spells, or
use healing skills available with the Ranger and Paladin
classes.

Note: Please don't get me wrong. I love the newer games
(Diablo is another of my favorites) but this game was
meant to pay homage to a great classic.
